Class B License and Testing

Heavy Straight Vehicles

A Class B CDL is required for any single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle towing a trailer that has a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less. This classification covers vehicles such as straight trucks and large buses, including articulated buses. To earn a Class B license, applicants must complete a heavy straight vehicle test, which includes a vehicle inspection, basic skills evaluation, and road skills assessment.

We at Ouachita Truck Driving Academy honor out of state applicants.
